For the first time after registration, Google, one of the most popular search engines in the world, has given VAT invoices for May and June to the Bangladesh Board of Revenue. On Thursday, the company submitted a return of Tk 2.29 crore to the government treasury for value-added tax (VAT). On May 23, Google became the first non-resident organization to register for VAT. But Google wanted time to submit returns for May and June to prepare. The VAT department responded to that request. Now Google has submitted the return of those two months. Earlier last month, for the first time in Dhaka, as a non-resident organization, Facebook deposited Tk 2.44 crore in the government treasury with Facebook VAT return. Of this, the company paid 55 lakh 77 thousand 704 taka against the VAT return in May and 1 crore 73 lakh 76 thousand 832 taka against the return in June. VAT has been paid from the CitibankNA branch in Singapore. Apart from Google and Facebook, Amazon and Microsoft have also registered VAT in Bangladesh. According to the Dhaka South VAT Commissionerate, Amazon, like Google, has applied for an extension of VAT return time. Authorities responded to their request. This organization can also give returns from this month. Tags: AmazonNBRGoogleFacebookVATMicrosoft
